In June 3rd June 6.00pm First Friday prayer In Loving Memory Sunday 26th June Our annual service to remember those we love who have died. Please join us for tea and cake at 4.00pm and the service is at 4.30. The names of those we remember will be read out at the service. The Cross of Nails from Coventry Cathedral is making a pilgrimage around all the Church Schools in Coventry Diocese this year. Wellesbourne School will have it from 9th to 13th June and will learn about the history of the Cathedral. They will bring it to St Peter’s for a special service at 2.30pm on Friday 10th June and it will be part of St Peter’s Pentecost celebrations on 12th June. Women bishops? Do you know all about it? Are you interested? Have you heard about the draft legislation? At Diocesan Synod 7pm 15 June at Bluecoat School Coventry there will be a presentation about the issues around ordaining women as bishops, especially the draft legislation for those opposed to their ordination, and some discussion. The meeting is open to anyone who is interested (this part of the agenda will be over by about 8.45pm). Kate will be going, so can give lifts. If you plan to attend, please let her know & she’ll let the organisers know how many people to expect. These matters are going to be debated at Parish level and at Deanery Synod before the formal debate and vote on the legislation which will take place at Diocesan Synod on 5th November 2011. |
