INSIDE CORNEROne of the major irritants in life is to hear the words “Oh, I didn't know it was on,” or words to that effect. We publish a great deal of what's going on and we'll happily include your function too, whatever it is. So if you're already a contributor please keep sending it in, and if your organisation isn't represented just let us know about it and we'll include you. All by the 10th of the month previous to publication of course. We look forward to hearing from you and if you don't know what's going on how about making a resolution to scan these pages every month? There's quite a lot there. We wish you a peaceful and fulfilled New Year. Mac

Dennis Arrowsmith
A tribute to a wonderfully generous man, Dennis Arrowsmith aged 80, who sadly passed away on Monday 21st November, after spending time in Warwick Hospital and finally in Solihull Hospice. Not long ago he was living a full and active life with his partner and my mother Kay Brown. They began their relationship in 1989 after coming together through the small ads looking for friendship and fun. Well they had both, over the years they travelled together and even enjoyed a flight on Concorde. They first lived together in Henley in Arden where many people got to know the happy couple living at the Elms, who took great pride in their garden, which was admired by many. They moved to Wellesbourne quite a few years ago to live in Hastings Road and soon began to make new friends, but still keeping many they had made in Henley together. Dennis and Kay would be recognised by many Wellesbourne locals, always together getting out and about to the local shops and excursions to Tesco's and Morrison's. They also enjoyed many years as members of the Wednesday Club, where they enjoyed many a game of scrabble. I am sure there are many people who have experienced his generous nature and cheeky chatter. Sadly there will be no funeral as, generous to the end, Dennis donated his body to science and his wishes have been carried out. So this is my way of saying farewell to a lovely man. He will be missed by many but especially by Kay and myself: without him life will not be the same. Linda Hayward |
