HTTP 404 “Not Found” Error
|
Sorry - I hate broken links too!
Unfortunately they're unavoidable these days, and it's hard work keeping links up to date. This is where you come in.
|
Types of broken link:
- External link - a link to another site: it may be out of date. Please report it to me on
this link
and I'll try and fix it.
I check the ones in “More...” every 6 months, but there are others all over the site that I may have missed.
We're very big on links on this site, so there are quite a lot.
- Internal link: - a link to another page on this site: if it is over 2 years old, I may have had to drop it from the site, as there isn't room for more than about 2 years of news pages. Please report it to me on
this link
and I'll send you a copy.
I try to drop the largest and least important of the old files to keep as much archived material up as possible.
There's 42mb of stuff going back to mid-2002, and our dear hosts, PlusNet have kindly allowed us 25mb for free - any more and we'd have to pay for it.
- Or, you could just have mis-typed the address.
Have a look at the address bar and try to correct it. If you can't work out what it should be, please report it to me on
this link
and I'll send you back the correct link.
|
What to do now:
- Correct the address and press Enter;
- or - go back to where you were and try again/ something else;
- or - wait for my reply.
If I'm near my computer I'll hear an e-mail come in and might be able to give you an answer straight away.
