INSIDE CORNER

Another New Year, it seems to come round faster each year together with more grey hairs. Looking back over the year we seem to have covered a huge variety of news and local events and it has been a real joy to me to report on some of these, especially those working to support others.

Our sincere thanks to all who have supported us in any way over the year: your help and encouragement, financial as well as practical, give us a great deal of confidence as we go forward into 2011. With a very happy New Year to you all.

Putting the X-Factor back into Christmas

Putting the X-Factor back into Christmas

Ruth, on behalf of the Wellesbourne Churches Together, would like to thank all the people who joined in the project of Putting the X-Factor back into Christmas. Each of the different Nativity Crib Scenes in the 56 different places around Wellesbourne celebrated the Birth of Christ in their own unique way; a wonderful gift to us all providing lasting joy and sustenance both at Christmas and throughout the year. We hope that seeing so many visual reminders of the true meaning of Christmas enhanced your enjoyment as you went round looking for them. The beautiful displays were well worth the visit. Thank you all so much.

County Council special offer
– save £££s by recycling

C. Council offer: save pounds recycling

Warwickshire households are throwing away the equivalent of almost £450,000 per year by not recycling more, according to latest figures from the Warwickshire Waste Partnership. On average, Warwickshire residents currently recycle 48% of their waste. If this is kept at the same level, the rising cost of sending rubbish to landfill will burden the taxpayer with an extra £445,000 next year. If each household recycled just one extra glass bottle, or equivalent weight, each week, this would achieve a 5% increase in recycling and an annual reduction in waste of 13,400 tonnes as well as producing a total saving of £878,000 – or £3.98 to each household. The rising cost of landfill tax, is £48 for each tonne of waste sent to landfill and this will rise by £8 each year. This will have to be met by the taxpayer, so these figures show just how important it is for everyone to recycle.

ZUMBA comes to Wellesbourne
ZUMBA
comes to Wellesbourne!

Ditch The Workout & Join The Party!

NoBody's Perfect Ltd is proud to announce that ZUMBA, the latest dance fitness craze that's taking the world by storm, is coming to Wellesbourne on Monday 10th Jan.

Zumba is a Latin rhythm inspired low impact exercise class that uses easy to follow dance moves that are designed to maximise calorie burning.

Ian Parker, Director of NoBody's Perfect Ltd, a local fitness company that has been running group exercise classes for over 25 years, said “This is the most popular class format I have ever taught. Of course, as an ex-professional Latin-American ballroom dancer and teacher I'm biased! I love seeing the people leaving at the end of the class with a big smile on their face. It really is exercise in disguise!”

“I think the popularity of programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing has really helped attract people to ZUMBA. They get to move to great Latin sounds and rhythms without the need for a partner. The class is structured, safe with simple moves that everybody can do. This makes ZUMBA a fantastic way to get fit and have FUN at the same time!”

January Timetable:
Monday, 6.15pm, Lighthorne Village Hall Opposite the Antelope Inn,
Monday, 8.00pm, Wellesbourne CofE Primary School, Mountford Close.

There are classes in Leamington on Tuesdays &Thursdays. Please visit www.zumbawarwickshire.co.uk for more information or call Ian on: 07974 913524.

Party yourself into shape!
